Hope and Humanity in the Face of Disaster: Resources and Support for Those Impacted

The devastation of natural disasters from the East to West coast are a stark reminder of our world's desperate need for hope in the face of dark times.

Seeing the devastation in LA—even as our friends in the Southeast cope with Hurricane Helene's aftermath––make clear our shared humanity despite this country’s vast differences.

In moments like these, we at the Dr. Maya Angelou Foundation find our hopes restored by this beacon of truth which she championed:

“Our shared humanity shines brightest in our darkest hours.”

Dr. Angelou wholeheartedly believed in the power of human connection as a mechanism of healing in the face of disaster.

To those impacted: we see you, we're here with you, and we'll get through this together.
